Is Paternoster Dunes Guesthouse on the beach?
Paternoster Dunes sits just above Bekbaai Beach, with expansive, unbroken Atlantic Ocean views and a short, easy walk through indigenous Strandveld leading directly onto the sand.
Do the rooms have sea views?
Four of our six rooms have sea views. Full room descriptions are available on our Rooms page to help you choose the setting that suits you best.
Is it within walking distance of restaurants?
Yes. The guesthouse is within easy strolling distance of Paternoster’s harbour and several of the village’s most regarded restaurants. As a recognised foodie destination, dining is central to the Paternoster experience, and we’re happy to assist with dinner reservations on your behalf.
How far is it from Cape Town?
Paternoster Dunes is approximately 150 km from Cape Town, either along the R27 or N7. Close enough for a coastal weekend escape, yet far enough to feel completely removed from the city.
Is it adults only?
Yes. We welcome guests aged 12 and older, preserving the quiet, peaceful setting couples and adult travellers appreciate.
Where are the breakfast room and communal lounge located?
Both are situated on the first floor. The breakfast room offers panoramic views across Bekbaai and the Atlantic Ocean. Breakfast is served from 8:30 - 9:45. On the go breakfasts can be arranged. The communal lounge provides a relaxed shared space for guests.
Where can I book a massage or spa treatment in Paternoster?
Guests staying at Paternoster Dunes can book professional massages and beauty treatments at Dunes Beauty. Advance booking is recommended.
Can the beds be configured as twins or a king?
Yes. Beds can be made up as either twin singles or a king-size bed, with the exception of our Mist Room, which features a queen-size bed.
What length are the beds?
Our mattresses are standard lengths by South African standards, fitted with quality mattresses and dressed in percale cotton linen for a comfortable night’s rest.
What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is from 14:00, and check-out is 10:00. Please co-ordinate late and early arrivals with reception.
What is your cancellation policy?
We reserve the right to not refund transaction costs incurred in the case of any cancellation or situation where funds need to be reversed to a client.

Do you offer a self-catering option?
Paternoster Dunes operates on a bed and breakfast basis and is not self-catering. However, we also offer Bekkie, our sea-front self-catering holiday home, ideal for families or groups of up to 8 guests.
